Prime Day 2023 is here! July 11th and 12th 2023 you’ll find some of the best Amazon deals ever. Over the last few years we picked up some awesome Prime Day deals (including our sweet bike trailer at $400 off retail) and I’m expecting this year’s deals to be just as good.
So without further ado, here are 2023’s best Prime Day deals for travel gear (including Prime Day deals on cameras, because no trip is complete without the photographic evidence). We’ll be updating this page as new deals come up, so bookmark it and make sure to check back often. The good deals may sell out early, so be sure to act fast if there’s something you really want.
It doesn’t fit neatly in any category below, but this awesome jumpsuit is one of the most popular Prime Day deals in my Facebook group! I love mind so much for travel that I just ordered two more. I’ve dressed it up with a blazer and even worn it as jammies.
Before you start shopping, make sure you’re a Prime member! You can grab a free trial of Amazon Prime here to get you through the sales.
Best Prime Day deals on Electronics
Is this the hottest deal of Prime Day 2023 for travelers? We think it’s pretty awesome! The fully-loaded Amazon Fire HD10 tablet is half off during Prime Days when you choose the 32GB configuration, though I recommend spending the extra $15 to increase to 64GB. You can stream Prime video and music for free and even download them to take on your flight. We have a slew of Fire tablets for our family travels and we love them.
Our daughter loves her Fire Kids Edition, and this one is even better! The Fire HD 8 Kids comes loaded with an 8″ HD screen, 32GB of storage (expandable via mirco SD card), a kid-proof case, a 1 year subscription to Amazon Kids+ and a 2 year no-questions-asked warranty. If I was buying now that she’s older, I’d go for the Fire HD 8 Kids Pro – it comes with a slimmer case and an “in-between” interface that’s tailored to kids 6-12 years old but still has all of the other perks of the Kids edition. The regular price is $140 but for Prime Day the Fire Kids Edition and Kids Pro are marked down to just $75. Get on it before it’s gone!
Make sure to pick up this universal power adapter with built-in USB charging ports while it’s on sale. It’ll save you so much hassle because it consolidates allllll the different plugs around the world and allows you to leave the USB adapters at home. I grabbed one a few months ago and use it daily both at home and on the go.
What’s our #1 travel accessory these days? It’s this compact charger that plugs directly into our iPhones without any extra cables. I can still put my phone in my pocket or purse or use it one-handed while it gets some extra juice. We brought two of them to Disney World and used them both!
We gain so much peace of mind from our Apple AirTags! I put them in our suitcases and backpacks, and sometimes even on the kids (at theme parks and water parks, for example). Grab a discounted 4-pack (or two) and these waterproof cases to put them in.
For the road trippers out there, be sure to bring your own portable jump start pack! Instead of messing with 20′ jumper cables and waiting for a good samaritan to help you out, you just attach the built-in cables (correctly) to your battery and ground, push the button and start your car. I keep one in my car at all times! Don’t forget to add the extra 10% coupon.
Best Prime Day deals on Luggage
Last spring I had to buy four new suitcases to help a relative move. Thankfully that gave me a chance to do some testing! My favorite by a lot was this one (pictured above). It feels very well-made and has lots of built-in organization including detachable packing cubes! Very easy to pull or push. The sophisticated colors are a refreshing change of pace for both adults and tweens/teens. I chose pink and navy (one to hand off to each kid, which I expect they’ll use throughout high school and maybe beyond). The cheapest options are light blue for 26″, navy for 22″ and black for a set with both sizes.
There’s a huge range of luggage on sale this week.
–Kenneth Cole chevron carry-on + tote set – very stylish and functional at the same time!
–American Tourister on sale, including lots of Disney and Star Wars
–Samsonite spinner 40% off
Check out this deal on the Camelbak Scout for your little traveling hiker! While it doesn’t have some of the more technical features found in REI packs, it would be a nice alternative to the Tarn 12. It’s appropriately sized for young kids, has nice straps and comes with a 1.5L reservoir to hold their water!
We love our packing cubes! Prime Day always brings many packing cube deals. Here are a few to start you off:
–Amazon Basics packing cube set – 30% off
–LeanTravel 6 piece compression set – 37% off
–BagSmart set of 6 compression packing cubes – 25% off
One of our favorite pieces of road trip luggage is this duffle bag. It holds two week’s worth of clothing and an extra pair of shoes for my tween. We also share it for the whole family if we’re just going on a weekend adventure.
In the era of increasing baggage fees, you have to know how much your bag weighs before you get to the airport. This little gizmo takes the guess works out – without having to lug your over-packed suitcase to the nearest scale and precariously balance it on your feet.
Best Prime Day deals on Camera Gear
Unfortunately deals on high-end camera gear are thin this year, probably due to global supply chain and manufacturing challenges. But there are still some good buys for Prime Day camera gear and accessories.
Prime Day is always a great time to pick up new memory cards. I’m a big fan of Sandisk, and they’ve never failed me through the decades. Right now you can get 38% off their 256 GB Extreme SD card. For a little less, you can grab the 256 GB Extreme micro SD card to fit your smaller devices.
We love snorkeling and always want to capture the cool stuff we see under water. We have a budget-friendly action camera and that it comes with practically every accessory you need. The swankiest version (which is less than what we paid for our lower-end one) adds a touch screen and upgraded image quality.
One of our favorite projects during our gap year was our son’s travel journal. You can easily make your own by printing photos as you go with this tiny printer – now 20% off – and then attaching them to a travel journal with crafter’s tape.
Prime Day Deals on Travel Strollers
Baby Jogger City Tour 2 ultra-compact stroller – 40% off (Pike color only)
BabyZen YoYo2 ultra-compact stroller – 20% off (Gray color only)
Joolz AER+ ultra-compact stroller – 15% off

Prime Day Deals on Travel Accessories & Travel Toys
We love these binoculars so much that after losing ours, I decided to take advantage of the Prime Day sale to buy two more! They offer the perfect balance of magnification and portability, and today’s price is far less than what I originally paid.
If you take a lot of long-haul or red-eye flights, it’s worth considering the trtl travel neck pillow. It provides much-needed support to help you arrive feeling rested despite only weighing a few ounces.
It’s always a good idea to have some first aid supplies on hand and hope you don’t need them rather than travel or adventure unprepared. This tiny travel first aid kit has all the basics and you can throw it in the bottom of your pack or clip it on to the outside just in case.
Lifestraw water filters are on sale today at half price when you buy a 1-pack! They’re a great way to minimize environmental impact when you’re travel in an area with unclean drinking water.
If you’re traveling with a young kid, don’t miss this amazing deal on the Baby Jogger City Tour 2! It folds small enough to fit in the overhead bin or a tote bag, so you’ll never be without your trusty steed.
If you’re worried about you (or your young companions) getting a good night’s sleep on the road, bring these portable blackout curtains with you. Lots of families in our Facebook group swear by them! I just wish I’d had them when our kids were younger.
Want to keep your kids occupied during flights and meals without packing the whole playroom? Snag this deal on Tegu pocket pouches! They’re normally extremely pricey, but right now you can get one for almost half off. Heck, get two at that price.
If you travel with a budding artist, consider grabbing one of these electronic doddle pad 2-packs. It’s a mess-free way to allow unlimited drawing!
Kids who love puzzles will stay busy with these innovative magnetic tangram set. It includes almost 200 puzzles and the tiles can even be used vertically.
